AI enablement: incident to developmentA UK law firm
- The situation
- Incidents and software changes ran as two processes with a ticket between them, so the context an incident arrived with was lost by the time a developer picked it up.
- The bet
- Rebuild the path from incident to change with AI inside it, so the first read, the reproduction and the proposed change are drafted before a developer opens the work, and the developer decides rather than digs.
- What shipped
- The incident-to-development workflow, rebuilt with AI in the steps and the roles changed to match, in daily use.
Strategy to execution: PSD2Lloyds Banking Group
- The situation
- PSD2 put a regulatory deadline across every channel of a bank funded by project and organised by function. The strategy was clear. The capacity to execute it at the pace the regulation demanded was not.
- The bet
- That the way through was a workforce that could execute, not a bigger programme: enterprise agile coaching and training with PSD2 as the live case, at a pace that reached the whole organisation.
- What shipped
- Three trainers took 18,000 colleagues through the programme in one year, in classes of 30, four times a week, with coaches working inside the delivery teams rather than beside them. One of those trainers, now a b-agile partner, trained more than 5,700 of them.
- What the evidence showed
- Reach that a classroom programme could not have had: a regulated change delivered by the organisation's own people, and a way of working that 18,000 of them had been through.
Organising for flow: digital transformation, 2015 to 2016Barclays Investment Bank
- The situation
- Digital products delivered through functional silos and handoffs, with value waiting between teams and the structure fighting the strategy.
- The bet
- Organise around the flow of value rather than the departments, with teams owning a product end to end and measured on what reached the customer.
Team and systems coaching, 2017 to 2019Commerzbank
- The situation
- Teams that had the practices and not the relationships, in a bank where the interfaces between teams were where the work stalled.
- The bet
- Coach the system, not only the individuals: Organisation and Relationship Systems Coaching alongside team coaching, so the teams could see and change how they worked together.
